Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill currently serves more than (12) different Tacos. We’ve tried most, but feature only (4) here. They’re not necessarily our favorites, but what’s photographed thus far. We’ll be adding to this post, as we sample others. Pictured above is the Grilled Portobello & Poblano Taco — It’s pretty messy, but is one of our favorites
This day we also tried the Grilled Mesquite Shrimp Taco, the Carnitas Rajas Taco and the All American Taco (R.I.P.), no longer on Rubio’s menu. The Carnitas was good and the Shrimp was okay (a little tasteless).
And we love the idea of the All American Taco, a Cheeseburger in a Taco, but the meat served in it was way too tough. It appears this Taco didn’t sell well, since it’s no longer on the menu. With a few improvements, we wouldn’t mind having it again.
At most locations, Rubio’s “World Famous Fish Tacos“ are $1.25 every Tuesday from 2:30PM to close. We also like the price of Rubios Street Tacos, but they’re sure tiny. View their full menu here and be sure to check back for a sampling of Rubio’s other Tacos.
Have you heard about Rubio’s New All American Taco? It’s a Burger in a Taco. I fell in love with the idea and Rubios’ photo of it. My Taco wasn’t as pretty as the model, but it tasted good. I especially like the Soft Flour Tortilla and Smokey Garlic Chipotle Mayo, but the Burger Meat on the Taco I had was pretty darn tough — That’s not good. Overall, with a better Burger the All American Taco could be a home run. And it’s worth trying again to see if the next one is less chewy. I hope so.
Thanks for the Feliz Cumpleanos and $7.00 towards a Rubio’s Meal. I chose the Chipotle Ranch Salad, since I love Chipotle Peppers. With a drink, I ended up spending $0.52 for this meal. Gracias.
Although I truly appreciate it, I don’t think I would pick this particular item again. I thought it needed a lot more Chipotle flavor — It tasted too much like Ranch Dressing. I like Ranch, but wanted and expected Chipotle.
I was also a little confused by the glowing orange chip sticks on the Salad. They weren’t good. The orange powder spice is way too salty. The Salad can definitely do without them. I should mention that the Chicken looked and tasted very good.
And one more thing while I have your attention… I bet your Tacos would taste even better with different, thinner corn tortillas. Can you change them for me? I’m not sure if others feel the same way? I’d love to read some opinions on this.
