Where Is My Employee Discount Taco Bell? You’re Making Me Work.

Automated Taco Bell

I discovered that the Taco Bell off Barranca and Von Karman in Irvine is automated inside.  I don’t want to learn Taco Bell’s computer system.  The process took longer while people figured it out.

Taco Bell Menus

Menus were scattered about.  I just found it annoying.  I’m not going inside that Taco Bell anymore.

Taco Bell in Irvine

One Taco Bell employee said 50% people like it and 50% don’t.  You know where I stand.

Taco Bell’s Spicy Chicken Enchilada Platter.

misc-02-09-020I’m not sure why I wanted to try this, since I have a phobia of eating hidden Chicken from a Fast Food Restaurant, HA.  I think it was the “Platter” aspect about it.  Plus I didn’t know it had Chicken, even though it’s in the product name — Go figure.  I was hungry and mostly curious.  I only ate the edges so I can’t comment on the meat, but the Enchilada Sauce isn’t bad.  I don’t think it’s new.  I’d prefer it with Beans and Cheese, as a wet Burrito.  And I like Taco Bell’s Chips, but not the Salsa that’s served with this platter.  To wrap up my occasional snootiness, I prefer not to have the Sour Cream warm and melted after being encompassed under the giant cover.  On the side is a must, always.  This Spicy Chicken Enchilada Platter costs $4.99.

Miguel’s Jr. Homestyle Mexican Food: First Stop In Orange County.

Miguel’s Jr. Homestyle Mexican Food — It’s on 17th Street, near Newport Boulevard in Costa Mesa.  A Taco Bell once occupied the space.  It’s Miguel’s Jr.’s first fast-food-type restaurant in Orange County, and after a quick bite I’m already glad it’s here and want to taste more.

Tostada

One of Miguel’s Jr.’s listed core values is to ‘Deliver a positive experience that exceeds expectations’ — I didn’t know that walking in, but now see it’s true.  Everyone seemed genuinely friendly, and the Beans on the pictured Tostada with Shredded Chicken were extra good.  I’ll need a Bean & Cheese Burrito there real soon.  Miguel’s Jr.’s prices aren’t bad either.

Do You Remember Pup ‘N’ Taco? Hopefully They Never Served This.

Bite the one you love said their advertisement — It’s not this Pup ‘N’ Taco.  I want to kiss its face, not eat it.  The real Pup ‘N’ Taco sold Hot Dogs, Tacos, Pastrami Sandwiches and more, and no longer exists.  Ninety-nine stores were bought by Taco Bell ending the chain in 1984.

04/16/12 Update:  Just so you know, the pictured is not served by Taco Dawg either. 😉

New Black Jack Taco FREE After Dark On Halloween.

October 29th, 2009 No comments

Taco Bell's Black Jack TacoIf interested, be sure to mark your calendar to try Taco Bell’s New Black Jack Taco FREE on Halloween.  After dark (6PM to be exact), Taco Bell will be giving away its spooky black shelled Taco – (1) per customer.  Since we’ll hopefully be enjoying a costume party during that time, we tried one on our own dime ($0.89 to be exact) and it’s not bad.  Three of us tried one this day and all thought it was relatively good.  Aside from the shell that doesn’t taste any different than a tan one, the Sauce makes it different and flavorful.  We may have another before its limited time expires.

I’m An Equal Opportunity Taster And Curious Too.

It’s Taco Bell’s Volcano Taco with Lava Sauce — The red Taco shell is kind of fun and different, but tastes exactly like their other hard Taco shell.  The Lava Sauce is pretty spicy and its flavor isn’t bad.  This particular Taco was a bit wimpy and the shell could have been more crisp, but it’s less than a buck.
