The Taste Of Orange County Is Literally And Virtually Happening Now.

Many will be at Verizon Amphitheater this weekend tasting Orange County’s best.  We’ll be there Saturday to see what’s up — And plan to bring it virtually @FoodBlog on Twitter.

Wow, a whole 40 minutes thats nothing. We were the 3rd ones in line before the 12 noon opening and waited 1 hour and 15 minutes just to get in with a wristband. We purchased the VIP tickets with 40 tasting tickets, but their system was down so the guy in charge gave us 20 bucks each to charge our wristbands with credits. Although it was a nice gesture it turned out to be a nightmare. Once inside we went to charging station #1 which was broken, so we went to station #2 which was only working intermittently so everyone and their mother was at that one station since station #3 was also broken. We waited about an hour and a half to get our credits charged then went on the hunt for some ice cold beverages. Got to the beer tent and it was cash only, exact cash only in fact. We had just used all our cash to charge our wristbands with credits. After a few hours the wristbands were still not working so vendors were writing our wristband numbers down to deduct the tastings later. Then later they reverted to paper tickets which we had to wait in line for again. Thank god for the nice vendors at SlapFish who wrote our numbers down so we could get some food and for the nice people at the Patron tent who gave us free drinks. All in all this whole event was one big clusterfuck. Whomever they used to boost the wireless signal to the vendors should be fired, sued, and run out of town. I wish we were alone in our frustration, but there were many others in the same boat. I feel bad for the vendors who probably got screwed out of money, time, and food.

Yes, you’re right, there were a lot of issues at the start! We luckily hung in there and it turned out okay, but it was indeed a mess at the beginning. Hopefully today will go better for all!!!

Went to the taste of OC today. What a mess. Got there at 12:30 and waited in line for 40 minutes as they had to look up each person’s envelope. Why not scan people in? The bar code was on the ticket. Then finally get in. Go to the booth to add points to the wrist band. They couldn’t do that as the “scanners weren’t working”. Figured, let’s just go in and have a look around. Went to try something and was told they couldn’t serve food yet as the scanners were down. We tried a few booths and the same was true throughout.

So, we come all the way to Verizon for the taste of OC, wait in line for 40 minutes. Then get in and can’t have anything to eat or drink.

Left after an hour and half. Went out to lunch. What a waste of time and money.
